It is there ..Go to – oldelectoralrolls.wb.gov.in- In home page find A Yellow Colored Row with Three Boxes …first select year , you want, wait a bit again the home page will appear , Then select District …YOU WILL FIND CALCUTTA …Select that ..then enter ..wait fraction of a minute the page may disappear ..But again the home page will open ..you will find in the first box year you choose , in the next box will now show Calcutta ..now select your constituency …select it and enter….Them in the extreme left you will find search click there …then View/Download will appear ..click there wait for some time ..In case you are downloading in smart phone find the list download folder. File size is big, as the number of pages varies from 1000-1300 ( approximately 70-75 MB). So it would be convenient to download them in Desktop/laptop. Hope this tip will help you.
There is no name in Kolkata District
This is an excellent job on the part of West Bengal Government …Hats-off to Honorable CM. This will give relief to cores of Bengali, who are agonized, afraid Of NRC, NPR etc ..etc.
Only problem , people may face, is to find the name of appropriate Constituency during the said period ‘1952-1971’. Newer generation will find it very difficult, since due to delimitation many areas have changed its Previous constituency. Also it is very tough to locate the desired area in the appropriate list , as page numbers is truly huge.
So I would ,most humbly, request the govt. to publish guidelines with a chart for areas/ place of each constituency for all the years ‘1952-1971’ so that one can find the name of their ancestors in appropriate constituency without much difficulty.
To make it clear, I am sharing my experience – I had no idea where ( in which constituency) can I find “Mouza -Kaikala, Dist-Hooghly” in 1952 . Luckily by trail and error method I found ,Mouza Kaikala in Haripal constituency , which was created in 1956. However still now I have no idea how to get the names of people of that area in 1952.
Correction :Please read “Luckily by trail and error method I found ,Mouza Kaikala in Haripal constituency , which was created in 1966” So please read 1966 in stead of 1956. Sorry for inadvertent mistake.
