A-1. General Knowledge( 50 Numbers)

Questions will be designed to test the candidates Genera Knowledge of the environment around him/her and its application to society

A-2. Current Affairs

Questions will be designed to test Knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience.The Test will also include questions relating of India and other countries especially pertaining to Sport, History, Literature, Culture, Geography Economic Science, Polity, Indian Constitution and Scientific research etc.

B. Arithmetic ( 50 Numbers)

Questions of this component will cover number system including questions on simplification, decimals, Recurring Decimals, Divisibility, fractions, LCM, HCF, Partnership, Average, Ratio and proportions, percentage, profit and loss, discount, simple interest, time and works, time and distance. With Mental Ability.

A) Scheme of Examination :The examination will be held in two successive stages, viz. (1) Written Test (Objective Type)),(2)Personality Test, as detailed bellow.

• Written Test : 100 marks.
• The examination will consistent of only one paper containing Multiple choice objective type questions
• on General Studies (50 marks) and Arithmetic (50 marks) and having 1 hour and 30 minutes duration.
  
• Personality Test : 20 marks..
• A limited number of candidates selected merit-wise on the results of the Written Test will be called to appear at the Personality Test..
• Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Written Examination and the marks obtained in the Personality Test .
• The Public Service Commission will have the discretion to fix qualifying marks in the Written Test or in the Personality Test and in the aggregate.

B. Syllabus for the Written Test :

• A. The Examination will consist of only one paper on –
• (i) General studies (Matters of common experience including every day science, current events and problems with special reference to India, elementary knowledge of Indian history and Indian Geography..
• (ii) Arithmetical (Questions s will be set on the basis off the syllabus off Madhyyamiik Examination off the WBBSE)) with Mental Ability.
• Assessment and evaluation of answer scripts done by the Commission shall be final and shall not be open to scrutiny by any external authority..
• A deduction of 10% off the full marks may be made from the total marks secured by a candidate in Written Test if he/she discloses his/her identity by writing his/her name, roll number, etc.. or putting any identifying marks inside the OMR sheet.
